BISTU Held Special Seminar on “Applications of Outstanding AI Teaching”

Beijing, 16th April 2024 (BISTU)--- Co-organized by BISTU, Beijing University of Technology, Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award Work Office of China Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), and Zhibotiangong AI Industry Research Institute, the special seminar on “Application of Outstanding AI Teaching” as a part of the 2023 annual conference of CAAI themed on “Innovation-driven strategy to build a country strong in artificial intelligence” successfully completed on 14th April 2024. The Seminar was co-chaired by Prof. Chen Wenbai, Vice Dean of BISTU Automation School, and Prof. Ma Nan, Deputy Secretary-chief of CAAI.  

 

Key note speeches were delivered by Prof. Huang Heyan, Head of Artificial Intelligence Institute at Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Zhang Yongfei from School of Computer Science and Engineering of Beihang University, Prof. Li Jianqiang, Vice Dean of School of Computer Science and Software Engineering of Shenzhen University, Prof. Zeng Dan from School of Communication and Information Engineering of Shanghai University, Prof. Chen Dongyue from School of Information Science and Engineering of Northeastern University, and Prof. Yu Naigong, Director of Robotics Research Center of Beijing Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Beijing University of Technology. Round-table dialogue was also held for educators on educational reform in AI big model, AI-driven interdisciplinary research and talent cultivation, industry-education integration supporting talent cultivation in AI, teaching in intelligent classes, and frontiers and future trends of AI.  

 

Discussions were centered on future education and education in the future to explore actual issues in AI teaching and to share applications and achievements in AI teaching. The seminar showcased innovative achievements in AI teaching and promoted theoretical and practical innovation in AI education. The role of AI experts in teaching was brought into full play on the seminar. These experts, with their outstanding contributions to AI education, motivated a larger group of educators to invest efforts in talent cultivation and development of AI education in China.  

The Seminar also carried important implications for the University in strengthening talent cultivation in artificial intelligent and the cooperation with other universities and institutions on AI studies.
