Student & Faculty Exchange

 

BISTU has established cooperative relations with over 30 universities from 10 nations and regions. These partner institutions provide a platform for BISTU students to seek oversea study.  Various forms of joint programs have been launched, which include student exchange, “3+1”, “2+2” and joint bachelor-master program, double master program, etc. Students can also go abroad to attend international contest and conferences. BISTU faculty members are provided with opportunities to seek academic visiting, advanced study, bilingual teaching training, joint research, international conference and degrees studies. At BISTU, special funding projects are established to support exchange programs for the school’s students and faculty members.

Combined Bachelor-Master Programs

“3+1+1”Programs with partner universities in the U.S.A., the U.K.and Ireland, etc.

In “3+1+1” Programs, students complete the first three academic years of undergraduate study at BISTU and transfer to foreign universities for the fourth year of undergraduate study. Upon successful completion of the fourth year of oversea study, students will be awarded bachelor degrees by BISTU, and will, meeting the entry criteria set by BISTU’s partner university, be eligible to register as the foreign university’s students for their master degrees.

“3+0.5+1.5”Programs with partner universities in Australia and Germany 

In “3+0.5+1.5” Programs, students complete the first 3.5 academic years (7 semesters) of undergraduate study at BISTU and transfer to foreign universities for the last half year (the 8th semester) of undergraduate study. Upon successful completion of the semester of oversea study, students will be awarded bachelor degrees by BISTU, and will, meeting the entry criteria set by BISTU’s partner university, be eligible to register as the foreign university’s students for their master degrees.

“Double Degree” Programs 

“2+2”Double Bachelor Degree Programs with partner universities in the U.S.A. and Ireland 

In “2+2” Double Bachelor Degree Programs, students complete their first two academic years of undergraduate study at BISTU and continue their last two years undergraduate study at BISTU’s partner universities. Meeting both universities’ requirements for awarding bachelor degree, students will get bachelor degrees from BISTU and the foreign university. 

“1+1.5+0.5” Double Master Degree Programs with partner universities in Australia and Ireland 

In “1+1.5+0.5” Double Master Degree Programs, BISTU’s graduate students complete their first academic year of postgraduate study at BISTU and transfer to BISTU’s partner universities for 1.5 academic years of postgraduate study. In the second half of their third academic year of graduate study, the students will return to BISTU to finish their graduate theses. Students will receive double master degrees from BISTU and its partner university if they meet both schools’ requirements for degree conferring. 

Student Exchange Programs 

Together with its partner universities or institutions in the U.S.A., the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Australia, Japan, Sweden, etc., BISTU has launched diversified short-term exchange programs and social practice programs during winter and summer vacations.
