Vice President Fang Deying Visited Macao Institutions

Beijing, 3rd April 2024 (BISTU)--- BISTU delegation headed by Vice President Fang Deying visited Macao on 1st and 2nd April to explore cooperation in student exchange, joint academic research, and talent cultivation with Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau Medical and Health Federation and Doctors Think Tank Academy.  

Professor Dr. Aliana Leong Man Wai, Associate Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology, offered an introduction to the University in respect of development history, academic structure, campuses, and educational globalization. Mr. Feng Junguo, Administrative Officer of School of Graduate Studies, explained admissions and education of postgraduates. Both institutions discussed cooperation in faculty development and reached consensus on the exchange program to be conducted from May to September 2024.  

BISTU delegation visited Macau Medical and Health Federation and Doctors Think Tank Academy. Discussions on talent cultivation, introduction of quality educational resources, and cooperation in “information technology plus medical science” were held with Dr. Huang Junjie, Vice Chairman of Macau Medical and Health Federation and Chairman Liu Baiqiu of Doctors Think Tank Academy.  

 

BISTU delegation also visited Macao Science Center and met with President Sio Hon Pan. Both institutions exchanged thoughts on carrying forward the scientist spirit. Listed in the first batch of Scientist Spirit Educational Bases, Macao Science Center has set up an exhibition hall themed on the spirit of Chinese scientists. Fang Deying spoke highly of the efforts of Macao Science Center in strengthening the nationhood and discussed with President Sio Hon Pan on cooperation in respect of science and technological competitions, social practices, and academic exchanges.  

 

The visit has successfully strengthened the links between BISTU and Macao institutions. Development philosophies were explored and quality educational resources would be shared. A substantive platform of exchange and cooperation is being built between BISTU and Macao institution aiming at promoting mutual-beneficial cooperation between Beijing and Macao.
